How long does it take to obtain Residency and an ID Card – Cédula?
Allow around 3 months for the resident card, then 1 additional month for the Cédula. The RUC is planned in person during the second trip, one year after the first stay. The tax residency certificate is then handled remotely, subject to eligibility. Processing times depend on your case and the authorities.
Do I have to be physically present in Paraguay?
Yes. The first 5-day stay groups the temporary residency and temporary Cédula applications. The second trip covers compliance with absence limits and obtaining the RUC in person. The third covers permanent residency and the permanent Cédula.
When and where do I obtain the RUC?
The RUC is obtained in person during the second trip, planned one year after the first stay, with our assistance. The tax residency certificate is handled remotely, subject to eligibility and approval by the tax authority.
What documents should I prepare?
